Benchmark is currently developing the 51 Washington Project. This is a two phase project with a tight timeline. Phase I involved the demolition and reconstruction of SEPTA’s Washington Street parking area. This portion of the project had to be completed and approved by the SEPTA team before we could begin the next phase of work. Phase ll is a completely different scope of work to prepare a 75,000 SF building pad and all utilities for 7 stories of apartments to be constructed. Along the building process this site has presented its challenges in the form of flooding and unidentified existing utilities. Benchmark has assisted with alternate designs and ideas along the way to remediate these challenges and ensure the project keeps moving forward.
